14p kitchen cupboard item gets rid of frizzy hair in seconds

Whilst most people will be happy to see sunny skies and temperatures rising this week, our hair doesn’t always like the hot, humid weather.

Many suffer with frizzy locks throughout the summer months, but is there anything to help?

One surprising item, which you probably already have in your kitchen cupboard, has been blowing people’s minds for how effective it is for taming frizz and static.

Aluminium foil can be all you need to keep your hair looking smooth and sleek during the UK’s hot weather – and it only costs a few pennies.

On TikTok, masses of people have been impressed by how well tin foil works on hair, with a video of blogger, Rominagafur, trying it out herself gaining over one million views.

Holding up a piece of foil, she told viewers: “Okay, let’s try this. I just curled my hair then brushed through it, and as you can see, it is very static.”

She parts her hair and runs the foil through one side of her hair. Instantly, the foil makes a huge difference, with her right side looking much smoother than her left.

“No way, do you see this?” She says. “This foil hack is actually insane, look at this.”

In the comment section, Nelly wrote: “I’m just as surprised as u are.” Another said: “You can definitely tell the difference.” Ari exclaimed: “Whaaatt.” Kayla replied: “Dryer sheets also work.”

Experts from beauty booking platform Fresha also back up tin foil’s effectiveness when it comes to getting rid of frizz.

They say all you need to do is “separate your hair into sections and take a piece of tin foil. Loosely wrap the foil around each section, then gently pull it down your hair to smooth out frizz.”

They added: “Tin foil costs around 20p per metre, and the metal helps neutralise static, resulting in glossy locks. This method works best for straighter or wavy hair.”
