Get Princess Kate’s peplum look at L.K Bennett for just £149 ahead of huge 2025 trend | Royal | News

Princess Kate is considered a trendsetter and style icon around the world thanks to her classy looks when she steps out representing the Royal Family. The 42-year-old rarely looks anything but sophisticated and is already ahead of the huge peplum trend which is set to hit our highstreets next year.

The design features on short, ruffled fabric that extends from the waistline of a garment to create an hourglass figure. It has been incorporated in many dresses and tops over the years which have even hit the runway.

They suit people who wish to emphasize their waist and hips. Another key feature is that over time many jackets and dresses have boasted wide shoulders.

It comes from the Greek word peplos, which refers to an ancient tunic. Meanwhile, it may come as a shock but it was not just a huge hit in 2010 – many women have donned the ensemble since the 19th century.

Peplum designs came back in again during the 1940s, the 1980s, and of course just over a decade ago. Despite being cast to the sidelines they have just started to splash on the glitzy stages of red carpet events and the catwalks this year – with the Princess of Wales being ahead of the huge trend after her stepping out at Wimbledon Tennis back in 2022.

Princess Kate’s most favoured look was when she wore a stunning structured design back in 2017 during a trip to Poland.

Alexander McQueen created the bespoke design that featured a stunning belt that cinched in her waiste and reportedly cost over £1,000.

However, Express.co.uk have found you a stunning alternative design for a fraction of the price. The L.K Bennett Mia Ivory Dress is now £149 after being reduced from £299 – and you can buy it here.

This stunning style will no doubt turn heads thanks to its classic shift fit with a modern twist. The added flair creates a bold statement.

L.K Bennett describes the designs: ” It has a round neck, cap sleeves, peplum detail to the nipped waist and a pencil-style skirt. Wear it with a pair of heels and a leather bag when the office calls, or try it with platforms and a clutch for dressier occasions.|”

It said that they use planet-friendly fabrics which are crafted in Europe from a crepe blending “LENZING ECOVERO viscose”. Princess Kate would no doubt approve of this as she is massively into sustainable fashion.

Despite the design also coming in a gorgeous sage green, which you may want to put away for spring weather New Look has a sensational winter peplum style dress.

The Missfiga Navy High Neck Peplum Midi Dress which you can wear now, is just £21 after being reduced from £35, which you can grab online now.

However, if you would prefer the peplum design to be featured at the bottom of the dress why not consider Coast’s Satin Back Crepe Dress which is £53 which is reduced from £89 and you can buy it here.
