Bette Midler’s X account goes dark after Election Day

The X account run by singer and outspoken Donald Trump critic Bette Midler was no longer online after her nemesis was elected president for the second time Tuesday night.

A message reading “This account doesn’t exist” appeared under the handle @BetteMidler Wednesday morning. Midler had also criticized X owner and Trump surrogate Elon Musk on the platform.

It is not clear whether the singer herself deleted her profile or if she was removed from the platform. Reps for Midler and X haven’t responded to a Daily News request for comment.

The Divine Miss M was active on X leading up to Trump’s win. On Election Day, she posted an image of a bottle of champagne and a bottle of Drano on that account. She joked the champagne was for celebrating a Kamala Harris victory. The toxic drain cleaner was for a Trump win. Throughout the day, the 78-year-old Grammy winner encouraged Harris supporters to vote and commented on the election.

Trump and Midler famously battled on X when it was called Twitter, prior to Trump’s ban from the platform that Musk purchased in April of 2022 and rebranded in July of 2023.

Midler first started needling the 78-year-old former reality TV star on social media in 2012, according to the Los Angeles Times.

In 2019, the “Wind Beneath My Wings” singer tweeted a fake meme quoting Trump calling Republican voters gullible and easily manipulated. He responded by calling her a “washed up psycho.”

Midler clarified the message she posted about Trump — who was then serving his first term as president and on a diplomatic trip to Europe — was misleading.

“I want to thank everyone who came to my defense last night during my personal Battle of the Bulge with he who must not be named,” Midler wrote to fans who supported her in that spat.

Midler hadn’t yet commented on Instagram Wednesday morning. She has 1.4 million followers on that platform.

Trump is scheduled to be sworn back into office on Jan. 20.
