Taylor Swift set to break Adele record with The Tortured Poets Department | Music | Entertainment

Taylor Swift fans know very well that this week marks the release of the star’s 11th album, The Tortured Poets Department, one of the most highly-anticipated records of the year.

The Tortured Poets Department is the first new record Taylor has released since 2022’s Grammy Award-winning Midnights, which explored new themes for the American singer, like depression, and regret.

The release of this record, however, may mark the beginning of history being made by Taylor Swift.

The Tortured Poets Department may well break a new world record upon its release if the bookies’ odds are anything to go by.

Ladbrokes has just released information on Taylor Swift potentially selling more than a total of 10 million copies worldwide.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Our traders reckon Tay Tay fans will be acting swiftly – and in their millions – when her new album drops later this week… we make it an odds-on shot she smashes 10,000,000 copies sold in the US.”

At the time of writing, Taylor Swift has 1/2 odds on selling more than 10 million copies worldwide. She also has 6/4 odds on selling under 10 million copies.

What’s more, the hugely anticipated album may well smash records upon release this Friday, April 19, 2024, by selling more than 3 million copies in its first week.
