A YOUNG musician is aiming to rock ‘till he drops this weekend as he performs SEVEN shows in 24 hours.
Fifteen-year-old Ollie Jeeves will kick-off his epic weekend of music performing before an expected 15,000 crowd at Headingley Stadium, where he will be performing with award-winning live performance music school LS18 Rocks at the Leeds Rhinos inaugural Sing Spectacular
Ollie will be playing bass guitar as he joins bandmates from the LS18 Rocks Headingley All Stars on the pitch ahead of the Rhinos Super League clash with London Broncos on Saturday afternoon. The collaboration from Horsforth-based music school will be performing a special crowd-pleasing medley of hits accompanied on the pitch by a choir of 400 schoolchildren.
After finishing at Headingley it will be a swift exit to hit the stage at a private party booking playing lead guitar with indie rock band Flame Spirals before he switches back to bass to perform an evening headline set with pop rockers Kingpin.
On Sunday Ollie will be back on stage at the renowned Abbey Inn Beer and Music Festival in Leeds playing a marathon three sets with three bands before an expected audience of around 1,000 people.
But his time of stage still won’t be done. He then needs to grab his acoustic guitar to join in with a wrap-party for the Horsforth Horsforth Walk of Art weekend, being held in the garden of the Old King’s Arms music pub in Leeds.
Incredibly after his 24 hours of madness Ollie will get a short break before he is back on stage on Monday evening at Leeds Playhouse Leeds Playhouse for LS18 Rocks The Playhouse – performing as part of a night of thrilling live music on the theatre’s world-famous Quarry stage.
Ollie started playing the piano at age six before taking up guitar aged nine and then bass aged 12.
He said: “I’m really looking forward to an epic weekend of playing music but I’ll admit I’m a bit worried I might not be able to feel my hands by Sunday evening. Performing on the Headingley pitch before a huge crowd is obviously going to be a huge highlight of the weekend, but to be honest I’m just looking forward to every second of it and hope all the bands play really well.”
LS18 Rocks Music Director Jonnie Khan said: “It’s a pretty daunting schedule facing Ollie but I’m sure he’ll rise to the occasion and be brilliant on every gig. It will be a great experience and one he’ll remember for a very long time.”
